We have developed the charts below in baseball and softball to help you understand ALL divisions. While there will be the occasional exception, these charts show - in general - a player's league age with the division they should sign up for. Like all affiliates of Little League International, the primary driver of player placement in Alexandria Little League is Official Little League Age, which you can find here. Occasionally, exceptions are made in cases where a player's Little League age and his/her school grade do not coincide, which is unavoidable because League Age cutoffs and school grade cutoffs do not perfectly overlap. Important to note, League Age for softball and school grade often do not coincide because of the way League Age in softball is determined. ALL Player Agents analyze each case individually and determine proper placement based on League Age and School Grade.

As a recreational league with a mission to build community in Alexandria through diamond sports, our principle is that players should play with their age/grade level peers whenever possible. In general, ALL will place players first, based on their age in lieu of skill based "playing up" or "playing down".
